Jindal Institute for Haryana Studies awarded Institutional Planning Grant under GenderStat

Jindal Institute of Haryana Studies (JIHS) of JGU has been awarded a US$100,000 Institutional Planning Grant under GenderStat – Women’s Leadership in Social and Economic Statistics. This prestigious grant is part of an important initiative dedicated to strengthening gender-responsive data systems, advancing women’s leadership in statistics and social science research, building a sustainable pipeline of women researchers and academic leaders, and generating rigorous evidence for gender-responsive public policy.
This recognition assumes significance because only three institutions have been selected for this grant, with JGU being the youngest and the only private institution among them. This is a remarkable achievement and a powerful acknowledgement of the growing strength, quality and impact of research and scholarship at JGU. As JGU continues its journey towards building the university as a world-class, research-intensive and globally engaged institution, achievements of this nature assume particular importance.
JIHS was established with the ambition of creating a distinctive interdisciplinary platform for rigorous research, scholarship, data generation and policy engagement concerning Haryana, while connecting regional questions to larger national and global conversations. Within a short period, the Institute has begun to establish a strong identity for itself through research initiatives, collaborations, academic engagement and institution building. The award of this grant is an important milestone in that journey and demonstrates the enormous possibilities that can emerge when institutional vision is combined with academic commitment and intellectual enterprise.
