JGBS has also emerged as the No. 1 private university business school in India for its MBA programme. The significance of this achievement becomes even more evident in the larger context of India’s expanding presence in global management education.

The QS 91视频 MBA Rankings 2027 feature 19 India-based MBA providers, with five institutions making their debut this year. Leading this new cohort is JGU, making its historic first entry in the rankings in the 171-180 global band.

JGBS is only in the 16th year of its institutional journey, making its entry into the world’s Top 200 a remarkable recognition of the School’s growing national and global standing in management education. Notably, in its very first appearance in the rankings, JGBS has been ranked ahead of several of India’s long-established management institutions, including IIM Kozhikode, IIM Indore, IIM Lucknow and IIM Udaipur.

JGU has also secured the 23rd position in Asia among 81 MBA programmes, including a strong 16th position in Asia for Employability.

The QS 91视频 MBA Rankings evaluate programmes across five key dimensions: employability, thought leadership, diversity, value for money, and alumni outcomes.

Commenting on the historic milestone, Prof. (Dr.) C. Raj Kumar, Founding Vice Chancellor, JGU, said, “JGBS entering the world’s Top 200 business schools in its very first appearance in the QS 91视频 MBA Rankings is a historic moment for JGU. For a business school that is only in the 16th year of its institutional journey, this is an extraordinary achievement. I would like to express our deepest gratitude to our Chancellor, Mr. Naveen Jindal, whose vision, enduring support and commitment to building a world-class university in India have enabled us to pursue excellence with ambition and purpose. This recognition belongs to our faculty, students, alumni and colleagues whose collective efforts have built JGBS into the institution it is today.”

The recognition in the QS 91视频 MBA Rankings 2027 represents another important milestone in JGBS’s journey of institution-building. The School has steadily strengthened its research ecosystem, international collaborations, industry engagement, student experience and opportunities for global learning and academic exchange. An important milestone in this journey has been the achievement of AACSB accreditation, reflecting JGBS’s commitment to internationally recognised standards of business education. Together with its growing research impact, global partnerships and graduate outcomes, this has enabled JGBS to build a distinctive identity in management and business education in India and internationally.

The achievement also reflects the collective contribution of faculty members, students, alumni, academic leadership and professional teams across JGBS and JGU. The academic accomplishments and research of its faculty, the achievements and leadership of its students, the growing impact of its alumni and the confidence placed in its graduates by employers have collectively contributed to the School’s growing national and global reputation.

With its historic debut among the Top 200 business schools in the world, JGBS marks a new chapter in its journey towards building globally recognised management education and preparing future-ready leaders for a rapidly changing and increasingly interconnected world.

JGU celebrates 17th University Day with Infosys Founder N.R. Narayana Murthy as chief guest /insidejgu/jgu-celebrates-17th-university-day-with-infosys-founder-n-r-narayana-murthy-as-chief-guest/ Tue, 13 Oct 2026 10:37:48 +0000 /insidejgu/?p=10112 JGU celebrated the 17th Anniversary and University Day, with Mr. N.R. Narayana Murthy, Founder, Infosys, as the distinguished chief guest at the event, speaking on ‘Ethical Leadership, Transformative Growth & Technology – The Infosys Story & the Future of India’.

Addressing the event, Mr. Narayana Murthy said: “India can create jobs through ideas and enterprise which is the only way for our country to become a developed nation in the future. It is important to note that everything we do in our lives is the result of the culture instilled in us through family values, peers and our environment as hard work, honesty, respect and integrity must come before personal gain. We need to ensure that younger colleagues follow good principles and that every decision they take brings respect from society and stakeholders.”

“The softest pillow is a clear conscience,” Mr. Narayana Murthy advised the young audience at the exclusive interaction at JGU. “It’s very simple to do the right thing if you set it as the benchmark.” He recalled his early days at university and said that he had been raised in a value system that imparted the key idea that getting respect from society is the most satisfying result in one’s entrepreneurial journey. Speaking about failure, he shared that his first company had not worked and then he had set up Infosys. “Failure is like a series of steps towards success. If you learn lessons from it and do not repeat those mistakes, then you can overcome failure. You should not get demotivated by failure into inaction. Scientists and researchers do not give up if they do not get results. They are trained to introspect and start again. You need to think rationally with concentration and then succeed,” he advised the students.

Mr. K. Jairaj, IAS, Former Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Karnataka, gave the Special Address and congratulated JGU on its 17th University Day and spoke about the technological, entrepreneurial and philanthropic milestones of Infosys under the leadership of Mr. N.R. Narayana Murthy, a true nation builder.

In his address, Prof. (Dr.) C. Raj Kumar, Founding Vice Chancellor, JGU, said, “It is my honour to welcome Mr. Narayana Murthy who has demonstrated through his own extraordinary journey how a world-class institution can be built in India and earn global respect. JGU has a similar vision: institutions are sustained not only by buildings, resources, rankings or reputations. They are sustained by values and they endure when integrity becomes institutional culture, when excellence becomes habit and when leadership becomes responsibility. India possesses an extraordinary civilisational heritage of learning. Our ambition was to renew India’s historic place in the global world of ideas and knowledge. We often speak about inter-generational equity in the context of sustainable development – the idea that one generation must not pursue its progress by diminishing the opportunities available to future generations. We, at JGU today, are custodians of something that belongs not only to us but also to generations whom we may never meet.”

The University Day also saw the release of the JGU Research Report 2026.

Raj Kumar, Founding Vice Chancellor of JGU and President of MJIAS, to shape the next phase of the Institute’s intellectual and institutional development.

MJIAS was established at JGU through the vision and generous endowment of Ms. Asha Jadeja Motwani, distinguished philanthropist and venture capitalist committed to strengthening intellectual, educational, technological and people-to-people engagement between India and the USA. Her vision led to the creation of MJIAS as an institution dedicated to building enduring intellectual bridges between the two countries and advancing understanding of the evolving India-US partnership.

Prof. Raja Mohan’s appointment marks an important new chapter for MJIAS and JGU. The ambition is to develop MJIAS not simply as a centre for studying America, but as a globally recognised intellectual institution that advances original scholarship, nurtures future scholars, convenes consequential conversations and builds enduring intellectual and institutional bridges between India and the United States.

Under Prof. Mohan’s leadership, MJIAS will pursue a sustained programme of basic and original research, with particular emphasis on three critical vectors shaping the India-USA partnership – defence, technology and energy. Its publications will include commissioned research papers, policy briefs, essays and a proposed Focus on America research series. Developing the next generation of scholars through postdoctoral fellowships, research opportunities, mentorship and engagement between young researchers from India and the USA will be a central priority.

Professor Mohan will also lead The America Roundtable, a regular closed-door forum bringing together scholars, diplomats, policymakers, business leaders, journalists and strategic thinkers for candid conversations on developments in the USA and their implications for India and the world.

Two major convening initiatives – the annual Motwani India-US Dialogue in India and the Motwani Forum in the United States, whose first edition is envisaged for 2027 – will create a distinctive transnational platform connecting influential voices from both countries. MJIAS will also expand its intellectual network across India, forge partnerships with leading institutions worldwide, strengthen the Annual Rajeev Motwani Lecture, engage distinguished international visitors and enhance its publications, podcasts and digital engagement.

Speaking about the appointment, Professor (Dr.) C. Raja Mohan said, “I am delighted to take up this appointment and contribute to the next phase of MJIAS. The India-US relationship is undergoing a profound transformation amid new challenges and possibilities in a changing global order. There is a need for deeper bilateral conversations on trade, energy, defence, science, technology, innovation and education. MJIAS has a remarkable opportunity to generate new ideas for the future of this partnership. I look forward to working with Ms. Asha Jadeja Motwani, Professor C. Raj Kumar, Professor Mohan Kumar and colleagues in India and the United States to build a vibrant, globally connected centre for research, scholarship and dialogue.”

Welcoming Professor Mohan, Ms. Asha Jadeja Motwani, Chairperson of the Board and benefactor of MJIAS, said, “Professor Raja Mohan brings an extraordinary combination of scholarship, strategic insight, intellectual independence and profound understanding of India and the United States. My vision for MJIAS has always been to build bridges of ideas, knowledge, innovation and people between India and America. His leadership gives us an exceptional opportunity to advance that vision and establish MJIAS as a truly global institution.”

Dr. Shashi Tharoor, Member of Parliament, Chairperson of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on External Affairs and Co-Chairperson of the Board of MJIAS, said, “I warmly welcome Professor C. Raja Mohan’s appointment. He is one of India’s most respected thinkers on foreign policy, geopolitics and India-US relations, and his intellectual leadership will greatly enrich MJIAS. I commend Asha Jadeja Motwani for her extraordinary philanthropy and vision that made MJIAS possible, and JGU for translating that vision into an ambitious global platform for scholarship and dialogue. I look forward to working with Professor Mohan and the Board to build MJIAS as an influential intellectual bridge between India and the United States.”

Prof. (Dr.) C. Raj Kumar said, Professor Raja Mohan is one of India’s most distinguished intellectual voices on foreign policy and international relations. His appointment marks a defining moment for MJIAS. “The India-US relationship today encompasses defence, technology, energy, trade, innovation, education and global governance. Our ambition is to build MJIAS into a world-class institution producing original knowledge, nurturing future scholars and creating influential platforms for dialogue. Professor Mohan brings the intellectual stature, strategic imagination and global networks to help realise this ambition,” he said.

Prof. (Dr.) Mohan Kumar said, “Professor Raja Mohan has spent decades studying and shaping the intellectual conversation around India’s foreign policy and the changing global order. His scholarship, experience and understanding of India-US relations will greatly strengthen MJIAS. We look forward to building a rigorous research culture and deepening engagement with scholars, policymakers, diplomats, business leaders and strategic thinkers in India, the United States and around the world.”

Mr. Biju Dominic, Chief Evangelist, Fractal Analytics and Author of MicroStimuli: The New Science of Persuasion, was the Masterclass facilitator. He introduced participants to the fascinating world of behaviour architecture, an interdisciplinary approach bringing together cognitive neuroscience, artificial intelligence, behavioural economics, and design to understand how human behaviour is shaped and how interventions can be designed for meaningful change.

Drawing from the book on MicroStimuli, the session offered a powerful exploration of how small, precisely designed stimuli can influence attention, choices, decisions, and behaviour. The Masterclass encouraged participants to look beyond large-scale interventions and recognise that meaningful behavioural change can sometimes begin with something remarkably small-a carefully designed stimulus at precisely the right moment.

JIBS organised another masterclass on ‘The Psychology of Gender-Based Violence: Understanding Victims, Perpetrators and Systems’ on September 21 for students of the Forensic and Investigative Psychology cohort. The session was delivered by Dr. Shalini Mittal, Associate Professor, Bennett University, who engaged students in understanding gender-based violence through psychological and forensic perspectives, with a focus on victims, perpetrators, trauma, and the broader systems within which violence occurs.

JGU opens Chief Justices of India Museum at its campus /insidejgu/jgu-opens-chief-justices-of-india-museum-at-its-campus/ Tue, 13 Oct 2026 07:27:34 +0000 /insidejgu/?p=9900 JGU has established at its campus the Chief Justices of India Museum, a historic and one-of-a-kind permanent national institution that seeks to preserve the legacy of India’s constitutional judiciary while inspiring future generations to uphold the constitutional promise of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity.

Located adjacent to the Nyayabhyasa Mandapam, the world’s largest moot court, India’s first Museum of the Chief Justices extends the vision of India鈥檚 first Constitution Museum by honouring the Supreme Court’s guardianship of these constitutional values. It pays tribute to the Chief Justices of India and generations of judges whose wisdom, integrity, and leadership have strengthened the rule of law and enriched India’s constitutional democracy for posterity.

Universities are entrusted with preserving knowledge while nurturing constitutional understanding, critical inquiry, and informed citizenship. The Chief Justices of India Museum reflects this enduring mission by documenting, interpreting, and preserving the leadership, jurisprudence, and institutional legacy of the Supreme Court of India in shaping the constitutional journey of the nation.

Together with the Constitution Museum, it stands as a lasting institution of learning, scholarship, reflection, and public engagement with the ideals, institutions, and constitutional values that sustain the Republic. Through this museum, we aspire to deepen constitutional literacy, strengthen democratic consciousness, foster respect for the rule of law and judicial independence, and inspire present and future generations to recognise that the preservation of constitutional values is a shared national responsibility.

The Chief Justices of India Museum explores justice as an evolving idea, tracing how the Supreme Court of India, through its Chief Justices and Judges, has shaped the nation’s constitutional democracy. It presents the office of the Chief Justice as a living institution that has interpreted, protected, and strengthened the Constitution through moments of national transformation.

By bringing together law, history, memory, scholarship, and public engagement, the museum celebrates the collective legacy of successive Chief Justices and reflects on how their leadership has guided the constitutional journey of independent India through moments of challenge, change, and transformation. It offers visitors an opportunity to understand not only the evolution of constitutional jurisprudence but also the enduring role of the judiciary in safeguarding democratic institutions and the rule of law.

Collections & Experiences

The museum houses an abundance of historical material on the Chief Justices of India and their landmark judgments, alongside an exclusive Oral History Project documenting the lives of the living Chief Justices beyond the Bench. Through these conversations, they share their epiphanies, aspirations, experiences, and inspirations, offering unique insights into the human dimensions of judicial leadership.

The museum also creates reflective spaces through artistic interpretations of significant constitutional judgments and the guiding principles of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity, inviting every visitor to contemplate their own role in the universal pursuit of justice and the preservation of constitutional democracy.

Five Galleries

The museum comprises five galleries, each with a distinct character and purpose.

Gallery I – Pathways to Justice explores social movements and landmark Supreme Court decisions that transformed India’s constitutional landscape through artistic renderings.

Gallery II – Pillars of Justice invites visitors to discover the lives, leadership, and legacies of the Chief Justices who shaped the Supreme Court of India.

Gallery III – Hall of Constitutional Voices preserves the living memory of constitutional justice through archival recordings and oral histories.

Gallery IV – Keystones of Justice brings defining constitutional judgments to life through immersive exhibits that illuminate the process and significance of constitutional decision-making.

Gallery V – Ideas of Justice functions as a sculpture garden that invites visitors to reflect upon their own responsibilities as citizens in upholding the ideals of justice, constitutional morality, and democratic citizenship.

The Chief Justices of India Museum is a space where the JGU community and the wider public can trace the remarkable journey of India’s constitutional democracy, engage deeply with the ideas and institutions that have shaped our Republic, and renew their commitment to the ideals enshrined in the Preamble and realised through the Constitution of India.
